Why did you want to work for the Cystic Fibrosis Patient Assistance Foundation?
I chose a healthcare career as I wanted to do work with an organization that provides a wide array of health and community services to people in need. Before joining Cystic Fibrosis Patient Assistance Foundation, I worked with a wide taskforce - patients and their families, sales representatives, provider offices, insurance companies and healthcare facilities. At CFPAF, I saw an opportunity to utilize my reimbursement background in pharmaceutical drug therapies and my customer service skills to help patients’ access expensive drug therapies on behalf of the cystic fibrosis community. Working with the CF Community, I am very humbled by the myriad of challenges faced by CF patients to meet their daily medical needs to stay healthy. I am glad CFPAF is able to make a significant difference in the lives of many with this debilitating disease.

How do you see the importance of your role with the Cystic Fibrosis Patient Assistance Foundation?
It is the mission of each CFPAF case manager to serve as a patient advocate. First, our main goal is to provide the financial assistance CF patients need to access specialized medication. Second, we strive hard to provide comprehensive case management to understand the needs of cystic fibrosis patients and their families. Our goal is to suggest additional resources and connect CF patients to all ‘access to care’ programs available to them based on their needs. Third, we aim to work closely with care center staff to educate them about our program services and to refer patients who may be experiencing financial constraints to continue drug therapies prescribed by their CF doctor.
If you had one thing that you would like to say to our customers, what would that be?
Thank you for applying to Cystic Fibrosis Patient Assistance Foundation. Our immediate goal has been to help you overcome the financial constraints and provide you access to high-cost inhaled nebulized to help you seek the medical care you need.
